We are pleased to announce the general availability of the Fall 2018 Update of the Counseling Center Referral System!
You may already have noticed several key enhancements to the CCRS, including:
- A Google Map at the top of the Results page. This map shows the position of your Approved Providers. This feature is being individually enabled on all school sites after all provider addresses have been verified. We may need to make minor adjustments to provider address formats (e.g. how units, suites, etc., are identified) to ensure compatibility with the Google Map.
- A new “STAFF” access role has been added to the CCRS. This new role has full access to view provider data, but cannot change it. STAFF roles can also add/edit/delete Counseling Center Notes relating to a provider. This new role is intended to be used by restricted Counseling Center staff who perform outreach or referral services, but are not enabled to make changes to provider data.
- A new BULK EMAIL feature. This feature is enabled on an as-requested basis. There may be some University IT work interaction required to properly authenticate the CCRS as an authorized “sender” of e-mail on your behalf . As such, this feature will only activated for Counseling Centers that request it. This feature can be used as an alternative to Outlook or your usual mailing list management system.
- Improved ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.0 Compliance.
We are still working on one key additional feature — the reduction of clutter on the Search Criteria screen. Currently, ALL choices are shown for Areas of Experience/Expertise, Languages, etc., when it is entirely possible that no providers have selected those options. We intend to reduce the list to only those options that at least one provider has selected – this will reduce the length and clutter greatly.
